With sessions scheduled at various times across Saturday & Sunday, the Wine Discovery Stage offers the perfect opportunity to join engaging discussions & deepen your appreciation of SA’s world-class wine scene.

Nick Ryan began his career in wine with one of Sydney’s leading wine merchants, after being thrown out of university in Adelaide. Fast forward to today, Nick is a well-known figure in the industry, recently taking over from James Halliday as the weekly wine writer for Australia’s longest-running and most widely read wine publication in The Weekend Australian. He’s also a columnist for The World of Fine Wine, a regular contributor to both Halliday Magazine & The Robb Report, a graduate of the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial, as well as a highly sought after wine show judge.

Nick was recently honoured with the prestigious Pal Mall 67 Global Wine Communicator Award in London, making him the only Australian wine media personality to receive such an accolade on a global scale.

Now based in the Clare Valley, Nick is excited by wines that are just as interesting by the fourth glass as they are at the first… but would give it all up to play one game for the Port Adelaide Football Club!
