Paul Henry

Paul Henry – Wine Ambassador

A leading South Australian-based food and wine identity, Paul Henry is one of Australia’s leading wine marketers. Former boss of marketing for Wine Australia, he today runs his own wine marketing consultancy, Winehero, and is a driving force behind South Australia’s membership in the prestigious Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

Paul is a great supporter of South Australia’s food and wine scene and the South Australian attitude towards eating and serving food. At Cellar Door Fest 2018, he’ll be the Wine Ambassador, involved in everything from special tastings in the Great Wine Capitals Discovery Space through to supporting a new wave of  South Australian winemakers in the featured ‘Emerging Winemakers’ zone.

    My big pick is ‘Emerging Winemaker’ talent. The most exciting thing in any story – be it food, wine, gastronomy or restaurants – is about who / what is about to break. Cellar Door Fest 2018 is the place to be to find out who / what the “next big thing” is!

 

Matt King

Matt King – Beer Ambassador

Matt King is an Adelaide-based craft beer writer known as ‘The Craft Beer King’. An active advocate for South Australia’s craft beer industry, he is involved in passionately promoting the State’s 40+ breweries and has developed a strong industry network of brewers, brewery owners and fellow beer enthusiasts. His website, thecraftbeerking.com, is home to the latest industry news, along with a list of local craft breweries and events.

Matt regularly plays host to a variety of beer-themed events, from blind tastings to degustation dinners and mini brewing demonstrations.  He’ll be actively involved in Cellar Door Fest’s brewery scene, including live brewing demonstrations, ‘Beer Geeks vs Brewers’ sessions and the Battle of the Brewers Long Late Lunch.

Jessie Spiby

Jessie Spiby – Food Ambassador

You may recognise her from MasterChef Australia 2015, but these days you’ll find Jessie Spiby catering and hosting pop-up dinner events around Adelaide, penning articles for Brand SA, Clique magazine and Peppermint Magazine as well as curating her pop-up event Food, Booze + Dancing Shoes.

Passionate about supporting local producers, Jessie takes pleasure in observing the diverse array of colour and beauty found in nature in her cooking. She celebrates modern day Australia by melding cultures and cooking techniques with beautiful seasonal ingredients to create a vibrant and colourful menu for her Adelaide-based catering business, Jessie Does Food. Keep an eye out for Jessie at Plant 4, Bowden where she is a resident event caterer.

Jessie will be our Food Ambassador at the 2018 Cellar Door Fest, as well as bring her lively Food, Booze + Dancing Shoes to the Fest for the first time as the event’s official Friday night after party!

    McLaren Vale because it is where my Mum lives, and has got some of the best wine and by far some of the best restaurants for our local regions.

Mark Reginato

Mark Reginato – Spirits Ambassador

Well-known and respected in South Australia’s spirits industry, Mark Reginato is the Spirits Ambassador at Cellar Door Fest 2018. Mark is the owner of Connect Vines, a boutique wine and spirits distributor formed to highlight small producers in South Australia, Victoria as well as the Iberian Peninsula. He formed ‘Man of Spirit’ in 2015 to inspire, invigorate, create, collaborate and educate the forefront of the hospitality industry and consumers alike. Man of Spirit is a distribution channel for some of the finest local and international products ranging from spirits, vermouth, sherry, tonics, bitters and shrubs – all essential tinctures for your drinking desire.

Alongside overseeing The Distillery at Cellar Door Fest 2018, Mark will co-host ‘The BeGINning’ master class – an intimate demonstration in the art of making gin.
